2012-13: Sack Attack

Sack Attack robot

The 2012-2013 VEX challenge was a game called Sack Attack, which involved moving bean-bag sacks into certain areas of the field to score points. This season we had 10 girls on the troop. We designed, built, and entered two robots into the Sack Attack competition.

Rules of the Game

The game has a total of 98 sacks and 4 bonus sacks as “scoring objects”. Most scoring objects begin in designated locations on the field, while some are available to be loaded onto the robot prior to or during the match. Each robot begins a match on one of their alliance starting squares. There are 10 scoring areas (5 of each color), of varying heights in which teams can score sacks or bonus sacks. Alliances earn a bonus for having the most robots of their own color touching their starting squares at the end of the match.

How We Did

We built and competed with 2 robots (robots “1868A” and “1868X”) in the Sack Attack challenge. Here’s how we did in competitions:
