VEX robotics teaches girls the basic principles of engineering in a fun and educational way. It also develops foundational skills that can be used in all aspects of our lives now and in the future, including cooperation, teamwork, leadership, respect, responsibility, strategy, and time management.
This robotics program allows us to explore STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields in a supportive all-girl environment. The leadership and STEM skills we develop in this program will help us to become successful global competitors in the future workforce.
To keep this program affordable, we ask our members to contribute annual dues which is currently $125/girl (in addition to Girl Scouts registration fees which do not go to our troop) and participate in both Girl Scouts money earning programs: The Fall Product Sale and the The Girl Scouts Cookie Sale. We rely on donations for the remainder of our funding.
We currently have an operating budget of $20,000/year where approximately 90% goes towards parts and competition fees. This allows us to form 4 competition teams (each team builds one robot) and attend 4-6 local competitions. We would love to expand to allow for more competitions, perhaps even an out of state Signature event or World Championship someday which would require us to increase our budget.
Any amount is appreciated! If you donate $1000 or more, your organization’s name will be displayed on our team T-shirt and website. We wear this T-shirt at all of our tournaments, community outreach events, and Girl Scout events, helping to advertise your business on a personal level. As a Girl Scout team we are a non-profit organization and your donation is tax deductible. Girl Scouts of Northern California will send you a tax receipt for your donation.
If you would like to sponsor our team, you can visit our secure donation page, or contact us for more information. Thank you for considering being a partner and supporting our team!
